I have a personal relationship with the founder of a US startup that recently got $5m in seed funding, and he really wants me to move to the US to work with him.How does my profile look for an O-1A visa?> High Salary Or Remuneration:- I have a SWE job offer from a US startup for $180k and 2% equity vesting over 4 years.- I also have no college degree so my compensation is unusually high compared to industry norms.> Original Contributions of Major Significance:- I built the MVP for this startup (though as a contractor abroad) from zero up to the company getting $5m in seed funding from angel investors.> Leading or Critical Role for Distinguished Organizations:- Along with building the MVP, I also continue to design and architect the entire technical infrastructure for this startup.> Other things that might be useful?- I hold a “Business Manager” visa in Japan currently (equivalent to an E-2 in the US), which is rare and hard to get. In Japan, only 688 Americans and 167 Canadians have this visa. Perhaps this could serve as some sort of recognition from the Japanese government?- As a side project in high school, I built the website for Dogecoin (dogecoin.com) that was live from 2014 to 2022. Dogecoin is obviously related to Elon Musk nowadays, which could have some sway?- We will use an immigration lawyer of course.- Citizenship: Canadian. Also born in Canada too.
